Freakin' Awesome

Freakin' (MSW) - intense feeling for. non Mormons can use a variety of words for this one, most commonly the queen mother swearword. For example, "That was freakin' cool!"

Yesterday we went to the Sandy city parade and fireworks. At first I was so annoyed. Really people! I come 2 hours early to set up a spot for our family. I get chairs and blankets arranged for us, a group of 18. And people come right when the parade starts and move in front of us, move us to the side, etc... What the heck?! Hello, can you not see us sitting right there!? We came early for a reason, so we could see the parade and get a good spot! Why can't you do the same? Give me a break!!

OK, enough of the crabbiness. Let's move on the Freakin' awesome part. About 1/2 way thru the parade, the air force does a fly by. It was just a supply plane, so nothing too fancy. But it was so cool! The plane went down the middle of the street and only 300 or 400 feet above the crowd. I love the sound the plane makes when it soars overhead. It was incredible! It did it twice. The second time it was higher and not directly overhead, but it was still awesome.

Next Freakin' awesome part was the fireworks. I don't know how much Sandy city residents pay for their taxes, but it was worth it for the fireworks! They were so good! Again, we had a great spot (hello, I was there at 4 pm to set it up, rotten stinkin' people!). We were right behind the spot where they set them off, so we were close. They were so loud and huge! I had to lay back on the grass to see all of them. We were also close to the stage where they had patriotic music playing as well. Nothing like seeing fireworks while God Bless America is playing in the background! Overall, a great night with family in spite of the idiots that sat by us!
